i have this small 2 wheel electric scooter with no seat u just stand on it…for my kids that goes like 10mph tops, what are the laws for scooters like these?
can it be driving on a sidewalk or side of the road legally?
and if i need a permit were do i get one… i live in illinois usa

Don’t worry about anything. The kids probably are supposed to wear helmets, though.
They are not legal on the street because they do not meet the minimum speed requirements. Also, the children are not old enough to have a driver’s license and get plates for them. They are not allowed on the sidewalk because they are motorized. They can only drive it up and down your driveway, legally.
